Ben Toussant is an associate at Silicon Legal Strategy. He advises technology startups and venture capital investors on a broad range of matters, including formation, debt and equity financings, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.

Prior to joining SLS, Ben was the co-founder and President of Knows, an eyewear consumer brand and technology company based in San Diego, California, and earlier as an associate with Fenwick & West LLP, where he acted as corporate outside counsel to venture capital funds and technology companies at all stages. Prior to earning his law degree, Ben served in the United States Navy for nearly six years as an intelligence analyst in the special operations community, including a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan.

Ben received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, and his B.A. from The Ohio State University where he was a member of the baseball team and 4-year athletic scholarship recipient.

When not at work, Ben enjoys surfing the Southern California beaches, completing the NY Times daily crossword puzzle, and searching for the perfect cup of coffee.
