Los Angeles, CA – Silicon Legal Strategy announced today that Rajan Patel has joined the firm as a managing associate in its Los Angeles office. His practice focuses on representing emerging technology companies and venture capital investors in formations, equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and day-to-day corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining SLS, Rajan was a senior associate with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP in their Santa Monica office, where he represented startups and venture capital funds in financings, acquisitions and ongoing capitalization and governance matters across various sectors. Before that, Rajan worked for three years with Gunderson Dettmer, working with emerging companies and venture funds on formations, financings and M&A transactions. Rajan also worked for more than two years at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, representing private equity and public company clients in buy- and sell-side M&A, minority investments and debt financings.
Rajan received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where he was a member of the California Law Review and the Berkeley Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law. Rajan holds an undergraduate degree summa cum laude in International Studies and Japanese from the University of Oregon.
“I’ve spent my career working with founders, and the investors who back them, at the moments that matter most for their companies, and Silicon Legal is built entirely around that work,” said Rajan. “I’m thrilled to join a firm with such a strong commitment to its clients and its people.”
“Rajan combines the rigor of a top-tier firm background with the direct, bottom-line-oriented approach we pride ourselves on at SLS,” said Gaurav Mathur, Partner at Silicon Legal and head of its Los Angeles office. “He knows how to move quickly without losing sight of what matters to the client. We’re delighted he is joining the team.”
